2019 National Scholarship Topic Announcement

The 2019 National Scholarship essay topic is “Promoting Women in Technical Fields.” Essays are due May 1st by 11:59pm Central time. Please submit your scholarship essay using the Scholarship tab above.

Who is eligible for the National Scholarship? Any active member that will be active in the Fall 2019 semester. The member can be an undergraduate or graduate student. However, alumnae members are not eligible to apply for the National Scholarship.

2018 National Scholarship Recipients

This $1,000 scholarship is awarded to an Active Member studying for either undergraduate or graduate degrees and can be used toward tuition and books. The 2018 National Scholarship essay topic was “Leadership.” We had many generous donations and were able to award an additional $500 scholarship to the first runner-up. The National Scholarship Committee met on June 10, 2018 when all essays were reviewed and the committee collectively decided on recipients.

We are pleased to announce Jenna Teberg of the Epsilon Chapter is our overall 2018 National Scholarship recipient and Shana Hilgerson of the Epsilon Chapter is our first runner-up. Congratulations Jenna and Shana and thank you to all of our essay writers!

2018 Alpha Sigma Kappa Educational Foundation National Meeting

The 2018 National Meeting was held July 28, 2018 in Washington, D.C. We held elections, reviewed the budget, and discussed the path toward endowment. Jessica Reese McIntyre was re-elected as President and Mary Matthews was re-elected as Secretary. Congratulations and welcome to Jenifer Henslee Peck – our new Advisory Board Member. Thank you Lynn Cabrera for your service.

The meeting minutes can be viewed here. The 2019 meeting will be held Saturday July 27, 2019 in Madison, WI. The time is TBD and a conference call-in option will be available.
